If you're like most PC users, you probably got Windows 7 with a new PC or laptop. And if you're like 99% of the population, you get your new machines from one of the major manufacturers. Dell, Acer, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo; who all have one thing in common: they don't give you a real Windows 7 installation disc with your purchase. The problem is, with Windows 7, the installation media serves more than one purpose. It's not just a way to get Windows installed, it's also the only way of recovering a borked installation. The Windows 7 DVD has a complete "recovery center" that provides you with the option of recovering your system via automated recovery (searches for problems and attempts to fix them automatically), rolling-back to a system restore point, recovering a full PC backup, or accessing a command-line recovery console for advanced recovery purposes.

Thankfully, Microsoft seems to have realized this problem, and have thankfully made a recovery disc for this purpose. It contains the contents of the Windows 7 DVD's "recovery center," as we've come to refer to it. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows 7, and just serves as a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, one could re-create this installation media with freely-downloadable media from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK kit, a multi-gigabyte download); but it's damn-decent of Microsoft to make this available to Windows' users who might not be capable of creating such a thing on their own. You can make your own copy from Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, but now you have an easier alternative.

It's a 143 MB download (165 MiB for the 64-bit version), and in the standard ISO format, ready to burned directly to a CD or DVD. Don't wait until your PC crashes to download a copy! Download and burn your recovery disc today, so that when the time comes, you'll be ready!

What it does: The Windows 7 Recovery Disc can be used to access a system recovery menu, giving you options of using System Restore, Complete PC Backup, automated system repair, and a command-line prompt for manual advanced recovery.

What it doesn't do: You cannot use the Windows 7 Recovery Disc to re-install Windows - it only fixes (not replaces!) Windows.

Suspect Arrested in Early Morning Stabbing Death in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - 38-year-old Aung Kyaw Thu is in jail, preliminarily charged with Aggravated Battery in an early morning stabbing.

A 911 call just before 2:00am Wednesday indicated there was trouble on Bunt Drive. A Burmese translation line indicated a disturbance and possible stabbing.

Officer arrived on scene in the 6000 block of Bunt Drive to find an unidentified male suffering from apparent stab wounds. Medics pronounced him dead on scene.

Fort Wayne Investigators worked with Burmese translators and arrested Aung Kyaw Thu at the scene. He was taken to the police station, charged preliminarily with Aggravated Battery and then taken to jail.

Officers say there was some kind of disturbance between the victim and Thu when the stabbing took place.

The Allen County Coroner will conduct an autopsy today to determine the cause and manner of death....as well as identity.

The stabbing remains under investigation.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - 46-year-old Nyunt Shwe made his first appearance in felony court Wednesday with an official translator provided by the courts.

He's charged with aggravated battery and battery with a deadly weapon, in connection with the stabbing death of 43-year-old Aung Win at the Brendonwood Park Apartments on Fayette Drive on April 8th.

One of the three men grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed one of the others.

And that in turn may have led to his beating death.

A man found dead Friday in an apartment in the 1200 block of Fayette Drive has been identified, an arrest in his death has been made and newly released Allen Superior Court documents paint a picture of what might have happened to 43-year-old Aung Win.

Fort Wayne police were called about 4 p.m. Friday to Brentwood Apartments, where they found Aung Win with a bloody and swollen face. The Allen County coroner ruled Aung Win’s death a homicide but has yet to release a cause.

Police also found two other men who were drinking with Aung Win throughout Thursday evening, according to court documents.

One of the men, 46-year-old Nyunt Shwe, has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery in connection to Aung Win’s death.

In court documents, Nyunt Shwe admitted he beat Aung Win with a wooden kitchen pestle – typically used to grind up spices – but said he did so because Aung Win stabbed his friend.

The events leading to Aung Win’s death began about 6 p.m. Thursday, when Aung Win went to Nyunt Shwe’s apartment, which he shared with another man.

Nyunt Shwe, his roommate and Aung Win then began to drink. Nyunt Shwe said Aung Win had already been drinking before his arrival, according to court documents.

At some point, an argument ensued.

Aung Win allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Nyunt Shwe’s roommate in the upper back, just below the shoulder, according to court documents. Nyunt Shwe and his roommate then wrestled the knife away from Aung Win.

Nyunt Shwe gave his roommate some ibuprofen, and his roommate went to bed, leaving Nyunt Shwe and Aung Win in the living room, documents said.

Nyunt Shwe told police that Aung Win left the apartment about 8 p.m., according to court documents. Aung Win then returned about 10 p.m., Nyunt Shwe told investigators.

That’s when Nyunt Shwe punched Aung Win in the face. He told police he then grabbed the kitchen pestle and struck him in the head several times, according to court documents.

He said he was angry about the stabbing earlier and that he did not intend to kill Aung Win.

Nyunt Shwe’s roommate also told police he witnessed the beating, saying that Nyunt Shwe hit Aung Win three times in the head and that Aung Win did not move afterward.

Human hair and red stains were on the kitchen pestle when police found it at the scene, according to court documents.

The next day, a neighbor came to the apartment about 11 a.m. looking to drink, according to court documents. The men tried to wake Aung Win, but he was dead, the court documents said.

Before he reportedly admitted to the beating, Nyunt Shwe told investigators that Aung Win may have died from too much alcohol.

Nyunt Shwe is being held in Allen County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the man's death, authorities said in a statement Saturday. A Burmese man was found dead inside an apartment in the 1200 block of Fayette Drive at the Brendonwood Park Apartments. Police responded to the report of a death about 4:15 p.m. Friday. The death is the city's seventh homicide this year, according to a statement from the coroner's office. An autopsy Saturday showed the man suffered obvious trauma, but the cause of death is pending, the statement said. Officials said they were not releasing the man's identity, pending positive identification. Fort Wayne police said they were questioning two people identified as "persons of interest" Friday. Police said a language barrier was challenging the investigation. The apartment complex includes many residents who are Burmese and Laotian-speaking residents.

first update, it is recommended to re-enable Windows Firewall and adjust its settings to allow BitDe-

This is where Recovery Disk come into play. It is recommended that users create a recovery disk as soon as possible and keep it in a safe location. In case your Windows 7 fails to boot, the recovery disk can help fix the problem.If you’re like most PC users, you probably got Windows 7 with a new PC or laptop. And if you’re like 99% of the population, you get your new machines from one of the major manufacturers. Dell, Acer, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo; who all have one thing in common: they don’t give you a real Windows 7 installation disc with your purchase. Instead, they bundle what they call a “recovery disc” (that’s if you’re lucky – otherwise you’ll have a recovery partition instead) with your machine and leave it at that.

It doesn’t matter that you just paid a thousand dollars for a machine that comes with a valid Windows 7 license – your computer manufacturer just don’t want to spend the money (or perhaps take on the responsibility) of giving you a Windows 7 installation DVD to accompany your expensive purchase.

The problem is, with Windows 7, the installation media serves more than one purpose. It’s not just a way to get Windows installed, it’s also the only way of recovering a borked installation. The Windows 7 DVD has a complete “recovery center” that provides you with the option of recovering your system via automated recovery (searches for problems and attempts to fix them automatically), rolling-back to a system restore point, recovering a full PC backup, or accessing a command-line recovery console for advanced recovery purposes.

Thankfully, Microsoft seems to have realized this problem, and have thankfully made a recovery disc for this purpose. It contains the contents of the Windows 7 DVD’s “recovery center,” as we’ve come to refer to it. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows 7, and just serves as a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, one could re-create this installation media with freely-downloadable media from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK kit, a multi-gigabyte download); but it’s damn-decent of Microsoft to make this available to Windows’ users who might not be capable of creating such a thing on their own. You can make your own copy from Windows 7 Ultimate Edition, but now you have an easier alternative.

It’s a 143 MB download (165 MiB for the 64-bit version), and in the standard ISO format, ready to burned directly to a CD or DVD. Don’t wait until your PC crashes to download a copy! Download and burn your recovery disc today, so that when the time comes, you’ll be ready!

What it does: The Windows 7 Recovery Disc can be used to access a system recovery menu, giving you options of using System Restore, Complete PC Backup, automated system repair, and a command-line prompt for manual advanced recovery.

What it doesn’t do: You cannot use the Windows 7 Recovery Disc to re-install Windows – it only fixes (not replaces!) Windows.

Karen rebels hold Thai man hostage

TAK : The Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) has taken a Thai man hostage in Burma territory and is demanding a 300,000 baht ransom, police say.

The man, identified as only Kriangsak, was being held opposite Tak's Umphang district, they said. Mr Kriangsak is a resident of Taperpoo village in tambon Mokro of Umphang district.

The police said yesterday Mr Kriangsak crossed the border into Burma to negotiate a financial matter with a group from the DKBA. However, he failed to reach an agreement and the DKBA took him hostage and demanded 300,000 baht in cash in exchange for his freedom.

The DKBA claimed Mr Kriangsak owed them this amount.

Tak governor Samat Loifa has assigned Umphang district chief Chawengsak Jaikham to contact the DKBA about Mr Kriangsak's welfare. It has yet to respond.

Yesterday, a special task force of the 4th Infantry Division in Mae Sot district watched an armed confrontation between the DKBA and the Burmese military near Manao island opposite Mae Konken village in tambon Mahawan.

A number of K-81 grenades exploded in Thai territory, a special task force source said.

The source said Thai members of the Thai-Burmese Border Committee (TBC) sent a memo to their Burmese counterparts in Myawaddy asking them to seek assurances from the Burmese military that explosive projectiles were not fired into Thailand.

A group of Burmese soldiers has been surrounded by DKBA militants. The source said a lot of Burmese troops had been killed or injured.

ျမန္မာ စစ္ေခါင္းေဆာင္ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္မႈး ႀကီး သန္းေရႊ ႏွင့္ ၎ ၏ မိသားစု သည္ အေမရိကန္ ေဒၚလာ သန္း ႏွစ္ေထာင္ (ႏွစ္ ဘီလွ်ံ) ခန္ ့ခ်မ္းသာသည္ ဟု ယူဆရသည္ ဟု ျမန္မာ ႏိုင္ငံ တြင္း ရွိ ႏိုင္ငံျခား သံတမန္ မ်ားကယခု ႏွစ္ အေစာပိုင္း ကတည္းက သံုးသပ္ ထားၾကေၾကာင္း ဥေရာပ သံ အမႈ ထမ္း တစ္ဦး ၏ ျမန္မာ ၀ီကီလိခ္ထံ ေပးစာတြင္ ေဖာ္ျပထားသည္။

၂၀၁၀ ခုႏွစ္ အေစာ ပိုင္းက ရန္ကုန္ ၿမိဳ ့ရွိ ဂ်ာမဏီ သံရံုး ဧည့္ခံ ပြဲ တစ္ခု တြင္ အေနာက္ တိုင္း သံတမန္ ႏွင့္အေရွ ့တိုင္း သံတမန္ တို ့ဆံုမိခ်ိန္ တြင္ ျမန္မာ စစ္အာဏာရွင္ ၏ ခ်မ္းသာမႈ အစုစု တို ့ကို ခန္ ့မွန္း တြက္ ခ်က္ၾကျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္။
ျမန္မာ ႏိုင္ငံႏွင့္ စီးပြားေရး ဆက္ဆံ မႈ အရွိဆံုး ျဖစ္သည့္ +++++ ႏိုင္ငံ သံအမတ္ ႀကီးက ျမန္မာ စစ္ေခါင္းေဆာင္ ၏ မိသားစု သည္ ေဒၚလာ သန္း ၂၀၀၀ ထက္ မနည္း ခ်မ္းသာ မည္ ဟု ခန္ ့မွန္း တြက္ ခ်က္ ျပထားၿပီး ၂၀၀၄ ခုႏွစ္ ဒုတိယ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္ ႀကီး ခင္ညႊန္ ့အား ရာထူးမွ မဖယ္ ရွားစဥ္ က ေဒၚလာ သန္း ၄၀၀ ေလာက္သာ ခ်မ္းသာ မည္ ဟု ခန္ ့မွန္း ထား ၿပီး ထို ့ ေနာက္ တြင္ ၀န္ႀကီး ခ်ဳပ္ ေဟာင္း ႏွင့္ စစ္ေထာက္လွမ္း ေရး တို ့၏ ပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈ ႏွင့္ စီးပြားေရး မ်ား ကို ရရွိခဲ့ၿပီး လြန္ စြာ ခ်မ္းသာ ခဲ့သည္ ဟု ေဆြးေႏြးထားၾကသည္။

(ဦးသာႏုိး အသံ) “က်ေနာ္ကေတာ့ ဒို႔ဗမာအစည္းအ႐ံုးကို ေထာက္ခံတယ္၊ စာေပေရးအရေတာ့ ေထာက္ခံတယ္ဗ်ာ၊ ဘာေၾကာင့္လဲဆိုေတာ့ ခုနေျပာသလိုပဲ ဗမာဆိုတဲ့ ဗထက္ခ်ဳိက္ မာ က ျဗဟၼာ က လာတာ။ ျဗဟၼာ ဆိုတာက ပါဠိေပါ့ဗ်ာ။ အိႏၵိယမွာလည္း ခုထက္ထိပဲ ျမန္မာကို ျဗမၼာ ေခၚၾကတာပဲ။ ဗမာစာကို ဘာရမီ လို႔ေခၚတယ္။ ျမန္မာစကားဆိုရင္ ဘာရမီဘာသာ လို႔ ေခၚတယ္ဗ်။ ဗမာက သာလွ်င္ တျပည္လံုးကို ျခံဳတဲ့အျမင္ ျဖစ္တယ္။ ျမန္မာက ခင္ဗ်ားတို႔၊ က်ေနာ္တို႔ အပါအဝင္ ရန္ကုန္၊ မႏၱေလးက လူတစုကို ေခၚတာ။ ရွမ္း၊ ကခ်င္ မပါဘူး”

အီလြီႏြိဳက္ တကၠသိုလ္က အၿငိမ္းစား ျမန္မာစာ ပါေမာကၡ ဆရာ ဦးေစာထြန္းကေတာ့ ထိုင္းႏုိင္ငံ မွာလည္း ဗမာလူမ်ဳိးကို ဖမာ လို႔ ေခၚတာကိုလည္း စဥ္းစားစရာအျဖစ္ ေထာက္ျပပါတယ္။ ဒါ့အျပင္…

(ဦးေစာထြန္း အသံ)“ပါဠိအဘိဓာန္ထဲမွာဆိုရင္ ျမန္မာျပည္ ဆိုတာကို ျဗဟၼာ ေဒသ ဆိုၿပီးေတာ့ ျဗဟၼာ ဆိုၿပီးေတာ့ ျပတာရွိတယ္။ ေနာက္ ဆရာေတာ္ႀကီးေတြက ျဗဟၼာလို႔ ေရးၾကတာေတြ ရွိတယ္။ အဲဒီကေနၿပီးေတာ့ အသံေျပာင္းၿပီးေတာ့ ဗမာ လို႔ ျဖစ္မယ္ဆိုလည္းပဲ ျဖစ္ခြင့္ေတာ့ ရွိတာပဲ”

ပုဂံေခတ္မွာေတာ့ ေျမျပန္႔ေနလူမ်ဳိးကို ျမန္မာ အျဖစ္ ေက်ာက္စာ ေရးထြင္းခဲ့တဲ့ အေထာက္အထား ေတြခဲ့ရတာကိုလည္း ဆရာ ဦးေစာထြန္းက အခုလို ေျပာျပပါတယ္။

“မြန္ေတြက သူတို႔ ေက်ာက္စာေတြ ထိုးတာ ရွိတယ္။ မြန္ေက်ာက္စာထဲမွာ က်န္စစ္သားလက္ထက္က လူေတြအေၾကာင္း ေျပာေတာ့ ဗမာေတြကို သူတို႔က မရမာ လို႔ ပဲ သူတို႔ ေျပာတာပါပဲ”
